Tournaments per year
Yes, that is right. The official Mexican National Squash Federation only hosts 3 official junior tournaments per year, while the US has over 200. Junior squash players are forced to play 3rd party tournaments that also pay the federation!
Pay to represent Mexico?
For a junior squash player representing Mexico to get endorsed by the national federation, a $200 fee needs to be payed to the federation. That is not including the tournament fees, hotels, food, etc! Many players are unable to pay to play.
Corrupt tournaments
Official tournaments from the federation are corrupt: unpaid official referees, bias in tournaments, bans from arguing against bias.
Lack of resources
Issues: some schools not having an English curriculum, difficulty for Mexican squash players to play college squash in the US, squash clubs shut down due to lack of funding.
